Max von Amberg is a very handsome 12-year-old German Shepherd. We all feel a special pang when a senior dog arrives at the rescue. After years of loyalty, Max was given up by his family when they could no longer care for him. Now all he asks is a calm home and a comfy bed. Max has an amiable and calm demeanor with people at the rescue, he'll even follow you around. He exits his kennel calmly and walks great on leash, right next to you. He isn’t much interested in other dogs, doing better with females and easygoing calm dogs. If a dog is pushy or too in-his-face, he does give a warning. He goes in playgroups a little unsure  and enjoys exploring the yard. Mature Max doesn’t forget his people - he comes to visit once in a while to ensure that all is well and asks to be petted. If you have a loving and tranquil home for  Max in his golden years, he can’t wait to join your family.
